Natural Hairstyles | The Bun Wrap

February 13, 2016

This past week has been a LONG one. With the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras only being two days apart, I haven’t had much time to sleep let alone pay attention to my hair. Being a bartender in New Orleans during Mardi Gras can be a very lucrative opportunity, but it takes it’s toll on your mental and physical health due to long hours and little sleep (especially if you’re participating in festivities along with the everyone else).

My lack of personal time caused me to get inventive with my hairstyles. I didn’t want to cause extra damage to my hair in addition to damage already being done from lack of detangling and extra manipulation, so I tried coming up with some cute protective styles that weren’t too “extreme” for my work environment. I work with my hands, so I had to keep my hair out of my face (to prevent touching my hair and then touching other things…). Then, I remembered these posts I saw on Abenah Adelaide Designs instagram.

I remember thinking, “Dang, I like how she matched the pattern of her dress to the pattern on her head wrap.” But it wasn’t a head wrap… it was only covering the bun part. So, its a bun wrap… right? If you ask me, YES! lol. So here is me replicating the bun wrap!

This is really my new favorite hairstyle! I can’t wait to do it again with a low bun. I can even see myself doing this with 2 buns!! I have so many ideas for how to make this hairstyle work 🙂

Merci beaucoup !
